Profhilo in one of the newest anti-aging techniques developed in Italy in 2015. It has boomed the aesthetic industry and it is an excellent alternative to dermal fillers. It is a hyaluronic acid (HA) gel and it treats the skins laxity through skin bio-remodelling.
It combats tired-looking skin and the loss of facial volume by stimulating four different types of collagens and elastin. With a higher degree of spreadability, it doesn’t produce lumps. Profhilo is capable of releasing the hyaluronic acid at a slower pace.

Profhilo Treatment
Before treatment, we at Derma Solution will book you in for a free mandatory consultation. During your consultation a detailed medical history will be taken, helping the medical specialist to determine whether Profhilo is an appropriate product/treatment for you to receive and whether it will help you achieve the results that you are looking for. During this consultation the potential risks and aftercare recommendations are discussed, helping you determine whether this form of injectable treatment is really right for you. You may also require this face-to-face assessment to determine how many sessions you may require.
During your treatment appointment, there would be preparation where anaesthetic topical cream can be applied to the areas to be injected prior to the treatment, if necessary, the skin is cleaned with an appropriate solution. During the treatment the prefilled syringe of Profhilo is injected using a small needle. A total of 10 injections are given, 5 to each side of the face or 10 to the neck area.

Frequently Asked Questions
You will require 2 mls spread over 10 injection points. At the start, you will need two induction sessions one month apart then one session every 4 – 6 months for maintenance.
The injections sting briefly, but patients generally report only mild discomfort. After the treatment, you may experience some tenderness for the first 24 – 72 hours.
Bruising can be avoided if an experienced practitioner performs the injection. Bruising happens when the injector hit a vein. Therefore, we always make sure to identify the veins before injecting. Nevertheless, bruising is always a possibility but is not that common.
Profhilo takes 4 to 6 weeks to work as the product needs time to spread and stimulate your own collagen and elastin.
- Anyone allergic to any of the ingredients in the Profhilo (Hyaluronic acid is a natural constituent of skin therefore you would not be allergic to this)
- Skin infection at the injection site
- Profhilo treatment is contraindicated for some people with certain auto-immune diseases
- If you are pregnant, trying to become pregnant or breast-feeding (It is not known if the Profhilo can be harmful to your unborn child)
